Daily Whale Watching Trips

  • Our daily trips are narrated by marine biologists or naturalists who provide fascinating information about whales, dolphins, and a wide variety of marine wildlife.
  • In addition to educating you about the wildlife, our experts share insights about the natural history of the area and discuss conservation efforts.
  • Our marine biologists and naturalists collect sighting data for scientific research, contributing to our understanding of local wildlife and aiding other scientists.

Exploring Monterey Bay

  • We travel to different locations within the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary to view whales and dolphins throughout the year.
  • Our crew will teach you how to spot whales and dolphins and offer tips on capturing the best photos and videos of the wildlife.
  • We often send a professional photographer on our trips to ensure you have stunning photos of your experience.

Trip Seasons

  • We have two seasons for our trips: the summer/fall season from mid-March to early December and the winter season from December to mid-March. The seasons mainly determine the duration and departure times of our trips.
  • All trips are weather permitting.

Ash Scatterings

Scattering a loved one’s ashes at sea is a meaningful way to say goodbye. We offer one or two hour charters along the Pacific Grove coast for ash scatterings, including unattended services. We often stop near Lover’s Point so you and your family can easily visit the location later. If you have a specific location in mind, please let our staff know when making your reservation.

Feel free to bring flowers or other plant material to include in the water with the ashes as part of the send-off. We also encourage the use of biodegradable urns, which can be placed entirely in the water.

We are licensed by the State of California Cemetery and Funeral Bureau as a Cremated Remains Disposer to scatter ashes at sea.

To scatter ashes at sea, you must obtain a permit. You can get this permit from the Monterey County Health Department at 1270 Natividad Road, Salinas, CA 93906. Alternatively, you can request that the permit from the crematorium states “for scatter at sea off the coast of Monterey.”

After the scattering, we will provide you with a certificate including the GPS coordinates of the scattering location for your memories and records.
