Lunge Feeding Humpbacks Vlog September 2017

Episode two from our in house photographer, Slater Moore. We had an incredible encounter with lunge feeding humpbacks! One surfacing, the whales lunged right next to the boat! This was definitely the encounter of a lifetime for our passengers. They do not always feed so close to the boat so, they did take us by surprise as they chased fish near the vessel while we were sitting out of gear. We always strive to maintain a distance of 100 yards from the whales at all times, but occasionally the whales do not obey the regulations. Another incredible day out here in Monterey.
