3/11/23 “Rock and Roll”

a bird flying in the air

Rock and Roll. The “Atmospheric River” hit hard this weekend, cancelling all tours yesterday, and blowing over countless trees along the Monterey Peninsula (cutting power for over 40,000 people for two full days). Out at sea,  The rain mercifully backed off, But the wind did not.  With some moderate chop, We still had no trouble finding a group of 3 Gray whales during the morning trip. The afternoon trip swapped out grays for humpbacks,  3 of them!  Nearing the end of our 2nd trip, captain rod spotted 2 more Gray whales, which we snagged a few quick looks at before making our way home.
