Halo the humpback whale has been a superstar here in the Monterey Bay the last few days!! This humpback whale calf has dazzled the fleet with his (Yes, we think he is a male) curious nature towards boats and even appears friendly at times. He hung out with the Pacifica for a good period of time today and swam under us and did numerous spy hops next to us. This cute little ( if approx. 35 feet is still little ) calf allowed us to see the fine details of a humpback whale with his close passes. There was one point of the encounter we were literally looking down his mouth and saw his wonderful baleen plates.
