“Our morning trip started off with a true introduction to the Monterey Bay as guests earned their sea legs through some wind and white caps on our way out to search for whales. Captain Rod had our backs through, and as he pushed through to the edge of the marine canyon off of Moss Landing the seas calmed and we were welcomed by three young humpback whales undoubtedly enjoying the abundant anchovies beneath us. While the elements persisted, guests of the New Horizon were rewarded with some excellent views of our adolescent whales, including a breach! We are thrilled to be sharing these acrobatics with our guests as our humpbacks are starting to return to the bay for their summer feeding after spending their winters in the waters of South America.”
