Summary of January Sightings: Calm weather and unexpected encounters!
The first week of 2025 brought us active Humpback Whales, Killer Whales hunting sea lions, and dolphins galore! Winter typically brings nautical weather with bigger swells, but most of January remained fairly calm. As the month progressed, Gray Whale season began picking up steam, with larger groups passing by Monterey Peninsula. We finished the month with thousands of dolphins and amazing water clarity. Hopefully we are just as lucky in February!
